Meyer (born 11/1/88) started cycling at the age of 13 and first represented the green and gold at the World Junior Track Championships in 2005 and claimed triple junior world titles in 2006.
Meyer won his maiden elite World Championship in 2009 the points race, before storming to triple world titles and Commonwealth gold medals in 2010 in the points race, Madison and team pursuit. Meyer added a Madison world title in 2011 and points race in 2012 before switching his focus to the road. On the road, Meyer has contested all three Grand Tours and is the only Australian male to have won all three elite national titles - criterium (2013), time trial (2010, 2011) and road race (2020). Meyer also claimed gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the road time trial. Meyer returned to the track in 2017 and at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, he won dual gold in points race and team pursuit before adding a fifth rainbow jersey in the points race in 2018.
