ABOUT DAVID

Born with cerebral palsy affecting his speech and motor skills, David began cycling as a form of rehabilitation for a dislocated knee.

David made the best possible start to his international career when he won gold in the time rial and silver in the road race at the 2011 UCI Road World Championships in Copenhagen.  

In 2012, he made his Paralympic debut in London where he won gold in the road time trial C3 and bronze in the road race C1-3.

In 2013, David won his second road world crown when he won the time trial. 

At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, David won gold in the individual pursuit C3, before winning the 2017 and 2018 world titles in the event. 

At the 2020 World Championships, he won his fourth straight rainbow jersey in the Individual Pursuit.
